The Dutchtub Wood has a natural look: the bathtub is covered with wooden panels, allowing it to completely blend into its surroundings.
The Dutchtub Wood is made of sustainable wood
The wooden panels of the Dutchtub Wood are made of Platowood Fraké, a durable and sturdy type of wood.
The wood used for Platowood comes from sustainably managed and certified forests.
The wood is treated by a process called platonisation, which allows it to withstand moisture and gives it a lifespan of at least 50 years.
Natural circulation in the Dutchtub Wood
The Dutchtub is heated by the natural circulation of the water.
Water sitting at the bottom of the tub is drawn in through the coil. There, it is heated by fire. The heated water then flows back into the tub through the spiral at the top.
By stirring the water from time to time, the warm water is spread over the tub.
Depending on conditions, it takes about 2 hours for the bath to reach a temperature of 38 degrees.
Lighting the fire
The spiral contains a heating basket in which you can light a fire. This fire is the heat source for the water.
During warmer days, it may not be necessary to light a fire, as the Dutchtub can also be used as a cold and refreshing ice bath :-)
