Regenerative farm 'T Gagel cooks spectacularly
Have you ever heard of a regenerative farm?
We were recently at Community Farm 't Gagel in Lochem to deliver some beautiful outdoor cooking stove sets.
Roos spoke enthusiastically about how they are working on a European flywheel for regeneration here, rooted in the Achterhoek region.
Their mission is to facilitate life through agriculture.
This is central to everything they undertake on the farm.
During their events, you can enjoy delicious food prepared on real fire!
At the Bell tents, they offer the option of self-catering with the VUUR LAB. BBQ outdoor cooking stoves!
Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar as great events and workshops will be organised.

The farmers
't Gagel's farm entrepreneurial team consists of four farmers:
Daan Houwers and Roos Burger will team up with Ricardo Cano Mateo and Anne van Leeuwen to regenerate this new farm in Lochem. They complement each other, each taking on different lines of business.Anne, together with Ricardo, has gained international fame with their regenerative farm and learning place Bodemzicht in Malden. Daan, as an Achterhoeker, returns to his roots to regenerate the landscape here. Roos conveys the story of regenerative agriculture through her experience in the recreational and culinary sector. Their mission is to facilitate life through agriculture.
These times call for healthy eating, empathy for everything that lives and a holistic vision. Regenerative agriculture works towards ecological, social and economic gains. This not only produces toxic-free and vital food but also an engaged community and living soil. The farmers are supported in their mission by a great team.
Sleeping on the farm
Come and enjoy the campsite or luxury tea dome
Spending the night in the middle of an edible landscape? It's possible at our budding food forest campsite.
Right now, you don't see much of a food forest yet, but it's nice to witness this change from the beginning. A good reason to return every year! Over the next few years, different types of fruit trees, berry bushes, nut trees, herbs and edible flowers will be planted where the campsite is now, creating spacious and sheltered habitats, each one a little paradise for people and animals. A special place on the farm, where it is allowed to be wild again. The wide views will remain, but around the tents it will be tasty and sheltered.
