Kale with an oriental touch
Stir-fry it yourself!
Kale is a SUPERFOOD!
Kale is packed with healthy nutrients.
Besides being deliciously high in fibre, kale is high in iron and calcium, and high in vitamins A, C and K. In addition, kale contains ALA omega 3 and lutein. The latter is said to boost eye health.
Sweet potatoes are super healthy
Sweet potatoes contain many healthy substances such as fibre, iron, magnesium, potassium and an ample amount of vitamins A and C. The orange variety is also rich in beta-carotene, a substance that the body converts into vitamin A.
The combo of these two in the stir-fry tastes really great.

What do you need for this kale stir-fry with an oriental touch?
Ingredients for four people:
1 Unox Gelderland Smoked Sausage. This Unox smoked sausage is made with quality meat with the 'Beter Leven keurmerk' (Better Life Quality Mark) and is prepared with the unique Unox spices. Delicious in our kale stir-fry!
1 bag of washed kale
2 red onions
1 large sweet potato
4 cloves of garlic
Ketjap manis
Pepper
Sea salt
Olive oil
Tools
Clean tea towel
Sharp knife

Preparation
Place the VUUR LAB.® BBQ outdoor cooking stove with griddle in a sturdy spot in the garden
Light the BBQ coal starters, place a few kindling wicks on the briquette grate and light them. Fill the coal starters with coconut briquettes and wait about 20-25 minutes until the coals are glowing. Then pour them empty over the briquette grid.
Place the griddle on the BBQ outside cooking stove so it can warm up in advance
Cut the onions
Remove the skin from the garlic and crush them flat (do not slice or shred them!) They go through the stir-fry whole
Cut the sweet potato into small cubes/chunks
Slice the smoked sausage
Put a generous splash of olive oil on the griddle and fry the sausage until lightly browned, alternately
Add the red onion and garlic, fry together for about 5 minutes, stirring regularly with the wooden ladle.
Grab a bowl or pan and spoon in the sausage with onion and garlic, keeping this aside for a while.
Put some more olive oil on the baking tray and fry the sweet potato
After about 5 minutes, add the sliced kale, stir nicely.
Add a few generous splashes of soy sauce manis and stir through.
Add salt and pepper to taste and stir again.
Now add the sausage, onion and garlic and cook until well done. Cover the whole thing with, for example, a square grill pan, let it cook for a while longer.
Serve on a pretty plate, enjoy!
